Christmas in the Living Room
Updated: Nov 6, 2020
I’m so giddy to share these photos today! And there is SO much to talk about…so much I haven’t shared about this room! Actually, here on the blog I have yet to even discuss this room! If you saw our initial home tour video (click here and go my story hi-lights titled “Home Tour”) you can see it in its full before state there…and baby, it has come a LONG way in just a few short weeks.
The first thing I did was add two 6' flocked garlands above the fireplace. They originally were plain and only had pinecones in them and I added some gold leaves, ornaments, and snowflakes to jazz it up. That's also our Frame TV in here that I love changing out the artwork depending on what we have going on.
Stying out this shelf for Christmas was an especially fun task- it may not come across in these photos, but this shelf is HUGE and needs A LOT of stuff to fill it up, all while making sure it's substantial enough and doesn't end up looking cluttered. The white metal Letters to Santa box is my favorite- it's hearth and hand from Target and absolutely heirloom quality, it's heavy and substantial and one of my new favorite things!
I bought these village houses a few years back from a floral wholesaler and they are still going strong. I put small battery powered LED votives inside for some glow. They are very charming.
We have a mix of a few different types of white stockings, I love how they go together, but don't "match". I would love to get some pretty gold initials to hang with each one so we know whose is whose...maybe next year!
We moved the office sofa (and coffee table) in here for now. I think eventually it may end up in the front room, but for now it works perfectly in here. I also purchased 4 mini wreaths to hang from the windows, added a bit of ribbon- and I'm obsessed with the effect.
I know it's a very neutral looking Christmas and you may prefer the red and green, but I just love white and gold, touches of blue, and ALL THE TEXTURE!! How do you decorate for Christmas?
