Fun Friday- Coffered Ceiling Details and My Birch Lane Picks!

This week felt like a lot of behind the scenes and finalizing little details for the One Room Challenge. I completely changed directions on what I had been planning for the coffered ceiling. I originally thought I would be doing something similar to this, but after a bit more thought I really wanted something a little thicker and luxurious looking... so I decided to order some samples from Ekena Millwork and we'll see what happens. One of my biggest hesitations has been figuring out how to deal with the existing crown. I don't like this look...

See how the coffers awkwardly terminate into the crown molding. I would instead prefer something like this.

And we already have crown in our dining room, so I'm going to try to figure out a way to incorporate the coffered ceiling into the existing crown to make it all look nice and cohesive.

Other fun things this week:

- Our sofa arrived this week for the backyard! I love it and will be spending this weekend taking photos to have a reveal for that space very soon- hurrah!!

- This shelf is styled perfectly. If you've been meaning to style a shelf around your house- take some notes from that photo, read this post, and get to styling!

- I will be teaming up with Birch Lane to help style out the dining room at the end of the One Room Challenge. Have you shopped with them yet? They have some amazing furniture pieces for outdoor spaces as well as a living room- here are some of my faves!

I hope you have a great weekend!

xoxo,
